Spring term
In spring 1 we had the Breck Foundation visit the school and give an informative assembly about being safe online. The children showed off their learning about online safety and learnt something new. As the internet is an important part of our everyday lives the children found this assembly useful.
Towards the end of spring 1, both classes were practising performance poetry, Maple class performed When Daddy Fell in the Pond by Alfred Noyes and Cherry class performed I feel angry by Michael Rosen. This all led to a very close performance poetry competition in KS1 and victory was won by none other than Cherry class! Well done Cherry!
Before breaking up for the February half term, everyone had the opportunity to perform what they had been learning in music and watch other years group perform. Maple and Cherry wowed everyone with their outstanding music performance!
We have kicked off this spring term 2 with learning about how to keep plants healthy in science and creating 3D maps in art. Children really enjoyed using different materials to create their maps, thinking about texture, shape and colour.
On Thursday 6th March year 2 really enjoyed World Book Day, they came in dressed as their favourite character from a book and did some paired ready. Even Miss Pandian came in dressed as Cruella Devill which made some people scared...but she enjoyed reading 101 Dalmations.
