Who We Are
Our Eco Warriors are a passionate team of pupils from across the school who are committed to protecting our planet and helping Earlsmead become a greener, more sustainable (eco friendly) place to learn. Selected through an application process, our Eco Warriors act as role models for environmental responsibility and help lead our whole-school approach to sustainability.

What We Do
The Eco Warrior Team works together to raise awareness, encourage positive environmental habits, and support key sustainability initiatives throughout the year. From monitoring recycling and energy use, to leading assemblies, completing waste audits, and supporting outdoor learning projects, our pupils play an active role in improving our school environment.

Our Role in School
- Promote recycling and responsible waste disposal in every classroom
- Act as “Switch-Off Champions” to help reduce energy use
- Support environmental campaigns and school-wide events
- Monitor and maintain green spaces such as gardens and planted areas
- Share important sustainability messages with pupils, staff, and families
- Help the school reduce its carbon footprint through active travel initiatives
Our Priorities for 2025–2027
Our Eco Warriors will focus on supporting the key priorities in Earlsmead’s Sustainability Action Plan over the next two years:

Reducing waste and increasing recycling
- Ensuring every classroom has clearly labelled recycling bins
- Leading a whole-school waste audit and creating action points
- Promoting reduced paper use and digital alternatives

Creating a greener outdoor environment
- Helping plant trees, flowers, and shrubs around the school grounds
- Supporting the development of sensory and nature-friendly areas
- Encouraging outdoor learning linked to sustainability

Reducing the school’s carbon footprint
- Encouraging walking, cycling, and scooting to school
- Supporting “Car-Free Fridays” and our Clean Air Zone
- Raising awareness of the importance of reducing pollution
Our Eco Warriors are proud to take the lead in caring for our planet and inspiring others to do the same. We look forward to sharing updates on our projects and celebrating the positive changes happening across the school this year!
