This term, Year 2 have been learning about plants in Science. They have been learning about why plants are needed and what germination is. They have conducted different tests to see in which condition a plant grows best by planting it in different ways. They have been planning how to care for an unhealthy plant in groups to learn about what a plant needs to flourish. 

In English, they are writing an invention narrative based on the book Rosie Revere, Engineer and have been looking at the different features of an invention narrative. They have been using their creative skills to write about their chosen character and what they will be inventing. They will then make a plan and put it together in their big write.

In History, the unit is 'How did we learn to fly?' They were introduced to this on the launch day when they learnt about how to board a plane using their passports and boarding passes. We will be learning about the Wright brothers and how they piloted the first flight. In future, they will be learning about how historians use evidence from sources to find out more about the past.
