In Saplings 1, the children have been following the text 'The Night Gardener' by the Fan Brothers. One of our pieces of work was to create 'mind maps' for the words 'night' and 'gardener'. The children made really good connections linking words for example 

           night - dark - stars

           gardener - spade - dig

In Saplings 2, as part of following the text 'The Iron Giant', the children leart about 'Kenning poems. Kenning poems are like riddles, they describe something without ever saying what it is. The children wrote Kenning poems about themselves. 

On Friday 2nd February we celebrated 'Number Day'.
